Bastille Day bargain on the coach

Bastille Day (14 July) is the largest annual festival in the French calendar and marks the country’s famous revolution. Thousands will gather in Paris from around the world and highlights of the celebration include:

·         Bastille Parade – Between 10am and noon the Champs-Elysées plays host to the French Armed Forces who spectacularly parade through the city by foot and air

·         Fireman’s Ball – fire stations throughout Paris open their doors and celebrate with bunting. This year is a double celebration as the Paris Fire Brigade (Brigade des Sapeurs-Pompiers de Paris) is celebrating its bicentenary

·         Fireworks – The day is topped off by a spectacular firework display from the Place du Trocadéro

Eurolines operate ten services to Paris everyday from London. Fares start from £9 one way and include booking fees and luggage allowance for two 20kg suitcases. To secure the lowest fare travel must be booked at least seven days in advance.

Customers travelling by coach are also helping to cut their carbon footprint. Coaches are the most environmentally friendly method of public transport– emitting around six times less carbon than flying.
