Visit Cologne by coach!
Now the the fourth biggest city in Germany, Middle Ages Cologne was one of the most important cities in the Holy Roman Empire. In 1248 work began on its imposing cathedral, designed to house the relics of the Three Wise Men. Known as the Dom, it was once the world's tallest building, finished six hundred years later. It is still Germany's most visited attraction.
This modern city on the Rhine with a 2000 year history, is home to 12 Romanesque churches, almost 40 museums and more than 100 galleries. The city hosts numerous events, international exhibitions and its colourful and bustling Christmas markets attract almost 100 million visitors every year. Cologne is an insiders tip among Germany's retail centres with ample choice of shopping streets and old town alleys with unique flair. Not forgetting the exceptionally distinct nightlife with the highest concentration of pubs of all German cities.
Sightseeing in Cologne is concentrated around the Dom, with three major museums just a stones throw away.
